Quickstart

Get up and running with Vibestreet in under 5 minutes. This guide walks you through installing the CLI, authenticating your account, and running your first AI skill.

Prerequisites

Node.js 18+ required. The CLI is distributed as an npm global package.

1.Install the Vibestreet CLI

Install the CLI globally using npm, yarn, or pnpm:

bash
npm install -g vibestreet
bash
yarn global add vibestreet

Verify the installation:

bash
vibestreet --version

2.Authenticate

Log in to your Vibestreet account. This opens a browser for OAuth or accepts an API key:

bash
vibestreet auth login

Alternatively, authenticate with an API key:

bash
vibestreet auth login --api-key YOUR_API_KEY

API Key Security

Never commit API keys to source control. Use environment variables: VIBESTREET_API_KEY.

3.Browse Skills

Search for skills by name, category, or keyword:

bash
vibestreet search legal-reviewer
bash
vibestreet search --category security --tier verified

View full details for a specific skill:

bash
vibestreet info @vibestreet/legal-reviewer

4.Install a Skill

Install a skill into your current project:

bash
vibestreet install @vibestreet/legal-reviewer

Install a specific version:

bash
vibestreet install @vibestreet/legal-reviewer@2.0.0

Note

Skills are installed to .vibestreet/skills/ in your project directory and registered with your active platform adapter.

5.Configure Your Platform

Point your IDE or AI platform to the installed skill. For Cursor, add to .cursorrules:

.cursorrulesyaml
# .cursorrules
vibestreet:
  skills:
    - @vibestreet/legal-reviewer
  sandbox: full

For emergE platform configuration:

emerge.config.tstypescript
// emerge.config.ts
import { defineConfig } from '@emerge/sdk';

export default defineConfig({
  skills: ['@vibestreet/legal-reviewer'],
  sandbox: { level: 'full' },
});
